Antique Haviland & Co Hand Painted China Set
Item Details
A unique china set by France’s Haviland & Co. The set includes: six cups, five saucers, 12 salad plates, a bowl, a bread tray, and a square-shaped tray. The set is in the Blank 637 mold featuring rounding edges and basket weave in the porcelain. The china set has gray against white and each piece is hand painted with birds and flowers. Not one bird or flower are exactly identical. They are all marked with green Haviland marks used from 1876-1889. They are also marked by Samuel Child & Co in Baltimore which most likely was a store that imported the china into U.S. A few saucers have an additional ‘X’ hashmark indicating a factory second.
