A set of five vintage china plates by famous makers. The set includes a tin-glazed faience plate circa early to mid 1800s. The late has a red and blue hand painted decoration of a willow tree and a turkey or chicken in a fanciful landscape. The piece is marked to the base ‘France / 22.’ A Sevres china plate in the Strawberries pattern, with a lightly scalloped edge and transferware strawberry motif to the inside, and a gold-flecked rim. Marked ‘Sevres’ to the base. A vintage Wedgwood plate with a green and white embossed pattern of a daisy flower over the surface. The plate is hand painted and has a lattice texture to the rim. It is marked to the base. A Copeland charger, featuring a transferware image of a flower basket in green to the center, encircled by a tiny floral motif. The plate has an embossed pattern of vase and draping on the rim, with small black bands applied to rim and base. It is marked to the base with two Copeland marks, ‘Copeland late Spode / England / Rg No 4846’ and ‘Apes de’s Impl / Copeland England.’ Please note condition comments. Also included is a vintage decorative plate with a transferware rendering of geranium blossoms and foliage, within a rim of bright butter yellow with faint texture on a white background. It is marked to the base with a transferware image of the word, ‘Geranium.’

Condition

- to fair. The plates have wear consistent with age and use. The Wedgwood plate has chips to the rim. The faience plate shows crazing to the surface. the Copeland plate has a crack to the rim. here is loss of gilding on the gilt plates.
