The Infant Jesus of Prague

A vintage Infant Jesus of Prague statue carved from plaster with a hand painted face, glass eyes and four elaborate vestments (with collars and cuffs) in pale yellow, cream, gold and royal purple velvet. The infant Jesus wears an elaborate gold crown encrusted with colorful simulated stones. The original statue was given as a wedding gift in Prague, discarded during a war then rediscovered in 1637 by a Carmelite brother, Fr. Cyril who prayed before the statue and the statue spoke to him. During the ensuing next four centuries, many miracles were reported to have occurred for the faithful. The original statue is preserved in the Church of Our Lady of Victory in Prague. This statue of the infant Jesus comes with a small booklet of the 14 stations of the cross and a booklet with devotional prayers.
Condition
The additional vestments are in very good condition as is the face and hands of the infant. There are several small chips at the base of the statue which are not seen under the vestments.
