An antique Kentucky 1910 tobacco silk. This is a tobacco silk from 1910. It is a woven silk piece that is woven with ‘S.U. Kentucky Egyptienne Luxury’ and ‘State University Lexington Kentucky’ with their symbol. On the top is ‘Factory No.7 3rd District State N.Y.’ The silk is colored blue, white and gold the same colors as Kentucky’s state flag. Tobacco silks were used as an advertising method and sold with rolled cigarettes. The silk is encased in a protective covering, the stand is not included.
