Early 20th Century Toledo Scale Company Postal Scale

An early twentieth century Toledo Scale Company postal scale. Standing on three legs, this copper scale has a ruler and porcelain tray. Text in white paint to front side ‘Honest Weight, No Springs.’ The Toledo Scale Company was the first company to produce scales without the use of springs in 1901. A plate towards the bottom of the scale reads ‘Toledo Scale Company 914 Toledo, Ohio, USA’ with patent information and model number. This scale is model 724B, serial number 137967.
Condition
- some wear to finish and oxidizing of copper, chips to porcelain tray.
