Danish Teak Tambour Credenza, Style of Ib Kofod Larsen

A Mid Century Modern Danish-made teak tambour door credenza on four legs, probably Ib Kofod Larsen. The tambour door slides easily to the side with almost no hint of being a tambour door because the seams are so tight. Inside is a light beech colored wood with movable shelves. The piece is stamped with the Danish quality control stamp ‘Danish Furnituremakers Control’ mark on the back and inside. As the Danish designs became increasingly popular in the 1950’s; the market became flooded. Danish makers responded by forming a group that demanded high standards of material, quality, and production.
