An exquisitely decorated porcelain Chinese foot bath. This basin features two gilt handles and an overall scrolling foliate tapestry pattern of gold against deep blue. Each side has a decorative cartouche depicting a European hunt scene replete with horse, rider, and hounds, along with Chinese landscape elements in the background. Koi fish swim playfully to interior in tones of yellow and pale blue. The underside of piece has a raised cross and orange stamp consisting of Chinese characters within a square border.
