Vintage Framus Wanderlust Acoustic Guitar
Item Details
A vintage Framus Wanderlust acoustic guitar. Framus began in 1946 after WWII, in Bavarian Germany. By the late 1960’s they were the largest guitar manufacturer in Europe, with over 300 employees. This guitar is a model 5/2, from the ‘Wander’ series, and this is the ‘Wanderlust’. This early to mid-70’s West German made guitar has a spruce top, laminated maple arched back, maple sides, and dark painted binding. The bridge is rosewood, and the neck is maple, with rosewood fingerboard, zero nut, triangular brass truss rod cover, and open headstock and tuners. The tuners have faux pearloid knobs, and there is a white plastic strap nut on the bottom of the body. A Framus label inside reads ‘Serial No. 27676’, but unfortunately this number does not refer to the production date, and the label is missing it’s stamp that would indicate such, according to the Framus website.
Condition
One tuning key is missing it’s knob. The top has a large 1.5 inch dent, a crack between the bridge and end of the guitar between the 3rd and 4th strings that doesn’t appear to go all the way through, and many other scratches and dents in the lower edge of the body. The back’s finish has cracks all over it, similar to what happens to some finishes during extreme temperature changes.
