Milward & Company Antique Walnut Parlor Table
Item Details
A Milward & Company antique walnut round parlor style table. The Milward Company that made cabinets and furniture started in Lexington, KY in 1825 with Joseph Milward (1803-1883). Joseph soon began making wood caskets for clients to fill a need. In 1867 his son William (1842-1915) joined the family business after returning from the Civil War and took over the funeral aspects. In 1887, the funeral home and furniture business were officially split, and Milward remains in business today as a well established funeral home. The table stands on three carved modified cabriole legs with a central turned pedestal, a round top with dark slate inset. The original furniture label is on the underside.
Condition
The top has a couple of cracks in the wood, but is intact.
