Wooden Framed English Imported Nature Scene Metal Etching

A wooden framed under glass English imported picture metal etching of a nature scene, with wire hanger on back. The verso on the back of etching reads ’ This picture is a genuine ‘Metal Etching’ imported from England. It is a fine print made directly on a metal foil surface and bonded with artist’s wax to a heavy backing. The image was hand-etched by a master engraver into an engraving block. The print was then embossed in relief under fifty tons of pressure, creating tremendous depth and brilliance. The light reflecting at different angles makes the subject almost life-like. As with any fine art, avoid extreme’s of heat, such as radiators, in the direct rays of the sun, or in a closed car on hot days. With care this print will be timeless. The metal etching changes appearance with the direction of light, keeping it forever new and interesting. It will, like a rainbow never appear exactly the same way twice.’ No signature found on etching.

Condition

Frame has some of the wood chipped and light scratches.
