Item Details
An antique five piece quadruple silver plate tea set by James W. Tufts of Boston. Tufts opened his company in Boston in 1875 producing high quality quadruple plate items. The set includes a tea pot, a creamer and sugar set, a butter dish with cover and space for cold water to keep butter cool (missing the butter knife), and a waste bowl. The engraved design features a floral and vining leaf pattern with an embossed design of acanthus leaves around the neck. The pieces are marked ‘James W. Tufts Quadruple Plate/Warranted/Boston/1948’ with the four pointed star with a ‘T’ in the center.
