Offset Lithograph of Rebecca Rice's "Date Nut Palm"
An offset lithograph reproduction of a botanical painting by Rebecca Rice, titled Date Nut Palm – Phoenix canariensis. This realistic print depicts a large date nut palm tree surrounded by enlarged samples of its flowers, shoots, and fruit. These are all set against a background that has been printed to look like antique foxing. Black ink is used to print a thin frame around the image, and to title the piece in script in the lower margin and print ‘Pt. 97’ in the upper left. The print is matted in bark-textured linen with gilt-stained trim, and is presented behind glass in a wide gilt frame. A wire is attached to the verso for hanging.
-to very good. Very faint, small denting on a few edges of the frame.
