Eastlake Victorian Seth Thomas 8-Day Wall Clock

Item Details

An Eastlake Victorian, walnut, 8-day wall clock, having a replaced paper face, reproducing the original, by Seth Thomas. The incised carved case has the original finish with an arched crest, surmounted by five ball finials. The glass door panel has a gilt-stenciled design with aesthetic-style foliate decoration, sprouting from urns. The brass works, ornate pendulum and brass key, appear original and well cared for. An original label reads, ‘Eight Day Hour & Half Hour Strike’, with no manufacturer’s identification on label. Circa 1880s. Untested.
