Antique leather bound ‘The Holy Bible’, circa 1842. Reads on inside cover ‘The Holy Bible; containing The Old and New Testaments: Translated out of the original tongues: and with the former translations diligently compared and revised. With marginal readings, references, and chronological dates. Also The Apocryphia. To which are added an index and concise dictionary, in which the various persons, places, and subjects mentioned in the holy writings are accurately referred to, and difficult words briefly explained. Together with tables of scripture measures, weights, and money. Embellished with several fine engravings’. Published by G. Lane & P.P. Sandford, New York in 1842 ‘For the Methodist Episcopal Church, at the Conference Office, James Collard Printer’. Bible features original owners name on inside cover. Included is an offset lithography of Rheims Cathedral.

Condition

Binding shows wear. Pages are stained and yellowed from age. Rheims Cathedral lithography is very fragile and breaking apart.
