Audubon Offset Lithograph "Louisiana Heron"

Item Details

An offset lithograph reproduction print of the original image drawn by John James Audubon (1785 – 1851) and engraved by R. Havell in 1834, titled, Louisiana Heron, ardea ludoviciana, Wils. Male ault. The image depicts the brilliantly colored and detailed bird striking a pose in its natural watery habitat, surrounded by exotic tropical foliage. Double-matted in navy blue and white, behind glass, in a beveled wood frame with a speckled, distressed gilt finish. A hanging wire is attached to the verso.

Condition

- minor wear to finish of frame along edges and on corners. Frame is chipped and scratched in a few places.
