A slant-front secretary desk by the Union Furniture Co. in Rockford, Il. This classical and elegant piece of furniture features a broken pediment with central finial to top. Below is a glass door cabinet with wood-cut scroll design muntins, decorative keyholes, and display shelves. The mid-section has a slant-front door that converts to a writing surface with filing storage and pigeonholes. The base has three drawers on the bottom with knob pulls and the back of the piece retains the original paper label.

Condition

The left hinge of the desk is broken, though the brackets are present. The left side has a weathered stain. Front middle drawer is missing its knob. The base molding is separated, so nails are visible.
