Original Jack Meanwell Abstract Landscape Acrylic Painting
Item Details
An original 1992 abstract acrylic landscape painting by very well-listed Cincinnati artist Jack Meanwell (1919-2005), signed and dated in pencil in the lower right corner. The painting depicts a vast brightly colored sky filling the space over an inky silhouetted landscape below. The painting is not framed or matted. An instructor at the Art Academy of Cincinnati for over twenty-five years, Meanwell holds a special place among collected Cincinnati painters and is certainly comparable in many respects to Paul Chidlaw. The pair had their works exhibited together in 2010 at the Mary Ran Gallery, in an exhibit called “Paul Chidlaw and Jack Meanwell – Battle of the Abstract Expressionists.” More information about the artist can be found at the link below.
