An original 2003 marker drawing on posterboard titled Falling Leaves of the Doodle Tree by listed Cincinnati artist Margaret Wenstrup (1930-2008). This image depicts large leaflike shapes filled with stripes made of very small hand drawn circles. The circles are in various shades of red, purple, yellow, and black. The drawing is titled, dated, and signed in pencil on the verso. Wenstrup graduated from the Art Academy of Cincinnati, lived and worked in New Richmond, OH, and is known as a pioneer of Mid-Century Modernism. Her art is recognized for her bold use of color and large scale work. The work is presented without framing and matting.
