Washington Breweries Barrel with Removable Round Glass Tabletop
Item Details
A Washington Breweries Barrel with Removable Round Glass Tabletop. Washington Brewery, once located in Columbus, Ohio, opened in 1906 and produced a wide variety of beer until 1919, when the brewery had to stop alcohol production due to prohibition. The company shifted, and began making other items under the Joyce Products Co. until 1933, when the repeal of prohibition allowed them to return to their boozy roots. Washington Brewery produced beer until 1953, when it finally closed its doors for good.
The top of this authentic barrel is marked ‘Washington Breweries, Inc. Columbus OH’, and has a removable clear glass top, allowing this modern relic to be repurposed as a side table. A fascinating piece of American and Ohioan history, this barrel is a charming reminder of the good ol’ days.
