18th Century French Carved Console

Item Details

An 18th century carved sideboard comprised of solid walnut. The sideboard shipped from France had the dark stain removed to reveal the natural beauty of the wood. The sideboard features a moulded edge and stands on bun feet. This piece offers three drawers to the top, separated by carved lion heads. The drawers feature an egg and dart frieze and metal pulls. The sideboard includes three cabinets, separated by ionic style column plasters. The center cabinet features an inset relief of ivy leaves set in a Grecian vase. Flanking the vase are a pair of composite female and acanthus leaf figures. The side cabinets include a panel and diamond design. The cabinets offer open storage.
