An original 1949 oil on board painting titled Barnyard by well-listed Ohio landscape painter Nolan Pennell (1894-1972). This light-filled impressionistic painting depicts a rustic barnyard surrounded by trees and a glowing sky. Chickens wander through the yard, scuttling across the farm’s simple fences. This beautifully textured painting is signed in the lower left corner, and is titled and dated in ink on the verso. A small, yellowed sticker with the number ‘4’ is attached to the lower right corner. This painting is presented in a weathered white frame with mint trim. A wire is attached to the verso for hanging.
