A beautiful French Rococo style sofa from Maitland Smith. The serpentine-back sofa has a light finished ornately carved wood frame with scrollwork and acanthus leaf motifs, and a light finished cane back. The sofa has curved woven rattan arms, front and sides with dark bronze nailhead borders. The back cushion echoes the serpentine shape of the back’s frame, with both the back and the seat cushion upholstered in an off-white and beige lattice-patterned sateen. The sofa has scalloped apron with foliate carving and cabriole legs with shell motifs.
