Depression-Era Boy's Athletic Uniforms
Item Details
A lot of two Depression-era boy’s athletic uniforms. There is a knitted wool basketball jersey and flannel shorts from Glasgow Junction, Kentucky, now named Park City, near Mammoth Cave. The uniform is dark gold trimmed in royal purple. ‘Glasgow Jct.’ is appliqued tot he front in purple. The shorts have a button fly and metal buckle on the self belt. The label in the shorts reads, ‘Guaranteed Athletic Goods/Cincinnati, Ohio/trademark Goldsmith.’ The size tag is illegible. The baseball uniform is pale gray wool twill. The neckline is piped in blue. ‘Eat Brown’s Ice Cream’ has been appliqued to the back. The pants are gathered at the knee and have a button fly and a rear pocket.
Condition
Considering the age of these items, they are in good condition. There is a small amount of loss due to moths.
