An original contemporary landscape pastel oil painting of autumn trees by M. Katherine Hurley. Painted in a representational style, this art depicts beautiful birch trees with fall foliage which reflects Hurley’s search for her subjects’ essence and beauty. Hurley grew up in a small midwestern Ohio town with rolling hills. She received a BFA from the College of Mount St. Joseph and continued her studies at The Art Academy of Cincinnati, including studying with renowned artist Wolf Kahn. Well exhibited with work in private and corporate collections, Hurley is also a Signature member of the Pastel Society of America. This particular piece recalls the talents of The School of Seven. The abstraction of formal elements in this work serves their better understanding in a seamless fashion. Art is signed on the lower left and is mounted under glass in a brown stained wood frame with ivory mat.
