Original Peter Hurd Limited Edition Lithograph

An original, limited edition, lithograph by listed southwestern painter Peter Hurd (1904 – 1984), entitled ‘Self Portrait,’ and numbered 8/25. This is a beautiful print that straddles fences of self indulgence, but what great artist isn’t sometimes guilty. Peter Hurd is obviously a man who thinks very much of himself, deservedly perhaps, he has portrayed himself as if he were the first and last cowboy ever to have lived. Dramatically lit and clad in a cowboy hat and duster jacket, he’s ready to ride. The print is signed to the bottom right hand corner, and is presented in a wooden frame with black paint and a single white mat to edge.

Condition

The print itself shows some wear, browned paper mostly, but this print is in great shape.
