Renaissance Style Desk With Carved Dog Motif

A carved oak Renaissance Revival desk, in three detached pieces, consisting of a rectangular top with inset surface of a brown baize cloth, over three horizontal drawers with deeply fluted detail and fine cast brass pulls, between carved die rosettes. Below are two pedestal bases, each having paneled sides and heavily carved doors, featuring a dog with puppy, standing in an arch, between carved and fluted corinthian columns, above a molded base. The interior is open on the left side and has three custom-made drawers, replicating the original, on the right-hand side. Circa 1880-90. English or Italian. Working key included.
