Pair of Shield Nickels
Item Details
A pair of Shield nickels. Collection features one from 1833 and one year unknown. The Shield nickel was the first modern day five cent coin made in America. It was minted from 1866 through 1883. The front of the coin features a shield and the words ‘In God We Trust’ on top. The reverse features a circle of stars with a number 5 in the center and ‘United States of America’ written on top. The coin is composed of 75% copper and 25% nickel.
Condition
Fair to Poor. All coins have been circulated and show significant signs of use. Please attend preview for own personal assessment.
