Item Details
A 1968 original offset lithograph with hand-added gold detailing by American muralist, sculptor, painter and mosaic artist Lumen Martin Winter (1908-1982). This print is an engraver’s proof of a print plan for Winter’s mosaic mural_ Labor is Life_, which was since installed in the AFL-CIO Headquarters Building in Washington D.C. in memory of the late president Dwight D. Eisenhower. This intricately detailed piece features laborers of all sorts, collaged together into one abstracted view of working life in America. This extraordinary print is set behind glass, matted in pale gray, and presented in a simple wooden beveled frame. A Closson’s Gallery sticker is attached to the verso, along with a wire for easy hanging.
