Antique "Queens of Scotland" Book Set

A set of eight volumes of Lives of the Queens of Scotland. It consists of biographies of the female members of the Scottish royal families, until the union of the English and Scottish monarchies in 1707. The series was written by historical writer and poet Agnes Strickland, who also wrote Lives of the Queens of England (see link for more on the author). Published by Harper & Brothers in New York, with dates of publication ranging from 1859-1864, with the dates not necessarily corresponding to volume order, suggesting that this set is possibly a mix of two or more editions.

Condition

- minor to moderate cover damage and paper discoloration, consistent with age. Bindings appear sound.
