A Volkstedt, Dresden Lace Ballerina Figurine. This figurine displays a stamp from circa 1900-1936 with intricate hand painted details of the face to finger tips to the flowers adorning the lace skirt. The dancer has lavendar slippers and is set on a round pedestal with gilt accents markings V 13568 7 0 and the Volkstedt blue logo. Volkstedt Porcelain factory was located in the heart of Germany and had the distinct privilege of being the only porcelain factory in the Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt principality from 1760 to about 1832. The intricate lace design was created by dipping lace in porcelain paste then kiln baked so that the cotton lace burned away and left the fragile porcelain lace behind.
