The work, in soft shades of terra cotta, blue and off white, is a two-point perspective view of the famed building. The piece is signed and dated to the lower left corner and displayed under glass in an off white matte and two tone wood frame. Richard Hoffman was known primarily for his watercolor scenes of New Orleans, painted in the 1950s and 1960s, but also painted the bayou countryside.
