Collection of Japanese Hakata Dolls
Item Details
A collection of Hakata Dolls from Japan. Made of fired Japanese clay and painted white, vivid colors are then hand painted over the white and faces added to represent living people. Hakata dolls were made expressly for US military personnel wishing to take souvenirs home, so all Hakata dolls in the US are said to have been brought in from Fukuoka, Japan. In fact, the bottom of one of these dolls has an AAFES price sticker. This is a collection of six female figurines. Also included is a Japanese clay souvenir of a couple seated on a piece of wood.
