Connersville Furniture Cedar Chest
Item Details
A Connersville Furniture cedar chest in walnut. The chest is a beautiful example of Connersville cabinetry and woodworking. It has a moulded cornice to the hinged lid. The interior is lined with cedar and the hinges have been replaced. The front of the chest has a central, applied oval detail flanked by trefoil-like applied detailing, and a keyhole to the center. The key is present. To either side of the center medallion is a carved inset with a rose blossom and foliage painted in. It has a gadrooned apron with stretchers to the base, and sits on vase and block turned legs with bun feet. The piece is marked with a plaque from Connersville Furniture Company.
Condition
The cedar is in good condition.
