1890s Comedie Humaine Novels by Honore de Balzac
Item Details
A group of nine volumes from a larger set of Honore de Balzac’s magnum opus, La Comedie Humaine. These volumes list copyright dates in the late 1890s, and are half bound in a lovely red milled leather over custom marbled boards and end papers. The spines each have five raised bands, with gilt edged panels and lettering. The tops of the pages are also gilt.
Condition
-The spine covering of Gambara etc. is detached from the binding on one side.
-There is a tear to the spine head of The Peasants.
