A Peter the Great limited edition Mont Blanc fountain pen. Numbered 3,477 of 4,810 of this edition issued worldwide, this exquisite gold-plated pen is highly ornamented in honor of Peter the Great I, considered to be the father of Russia’s 18th century cultural revolution. The barrel is emerald-colored precious resin with an openwork decoration of rose gold plate, featuring leaf and vine ornamentation to the cap. The tip of the cap is deep onyx black with a hexagonal white star. The cap has inscribed on it the monogram ‘BWJR’ and the edition number, ‘3477 / 4810 MontBlanc.’ The pen nib is 18 karat yellow gold, and is engraved with Peter the Great’s seal, a two headed falcon grasping a scepter and orb surmounted by a cross, the final edition number, ‘4810’ and ‘1997 / 750 / 18K / Mont Blanc.’ The pen is in an emerald green-colored resin case with a hinged lid. Inside is black felt-backed with the Mont Blanc Logo and ‘The Art of Writing’ stamped. A gold-toned plaque with the edition name and number is affixed. An elegant writing instrument.
