Original Jack Meanwell Abstract Oil on Paper Still Life
Item Details
An original abstract oil on paper still life painting by well-listed Cincinnati painter Jack Meanwell (1919 – 2005). A vibrant abstract painting resembling a bouquet of flowers in hues of yellow and red in a blue vase. Signed by Meanwell in graphite to the lower right, dated ‘93. Presented to you unframed, awaiting your choice of presentation. An instructor at the Art Academy of Cincinnati for over 25 years, Meanwell holds a special place among collected Cincinnati painters and is certainly comparable in many respects to Paul Chidlaw. The pair had their works exhibited together in 2010 at the Mary Ran Gallery, in an exhibit called “Paul Chidlaw and Jack Meanwell – Battle of the Abstract Expressionists.’
