Vintage Hand Colored Etchings by Marcel Julien Baron
Item Details
A set of four hand colored etchings by artist Marcel Julien Baron (French, 1872-1956) depicting views of Paris. The first, a Parisian street scene circa 1920s, gives a glimpse into daily life on a busy street in Paris. It depicts a busy cafe´with its bright orange umbrellas, groups of diners gathered in tête-à-tête at small tables, and people walking and talking along the broad sidewalks with the domes of churches in the background. The second, in stark contrast, depicts us a wintry Parisian street with people hurrying down the sidewalks while a light snowfall envelopes the city. A man with a bright red scarf gives a pop of color in the blue-grey wintry scene. The prints are hand-tinted and signed in pencil to the lower right by the artist.
