Pair of Rococo Revival Parlor Chairs

A pair of beautiful Rococo Revival parlor chairs having balloon backs with intricately detailed rose and leaf carving to the top rail and arm supports, after an 1859 style prominent in Philadelphia. Each has a cherry or mahogany finish, with a repeated floral carving to the seat apron. The chairs have cabriole style legs and small pad feet. One is upholstered in a gold damask-type material with an elegant floral pattern; one is in a green silk-type material, and both chairs have matching material covering the arm supports.
