Silver Plated Tableware

Item Details

A collection of silver plated tableware includes fifteen pieces in a gilded metal box. The metal box features a floral repousse motif and small, decorative feet. The silver plated silverware includes four butter knives with a dotted floral design on the handles, a single serving spoon with a diagonal floral design on the handle and marked to the underside, ‘Tudor Plate Oneida Community.’ Also included is a small spoon with a twist in the center of the handle and a koala at the end, a long spoon with a floral design covering the handle and a bear at the end that reads on the back, ‘Nils-Johane NS ALP. Sweden’, and a small soup spoon with a small folded handle. There is a curved spoon with a tapered handle and spoon with flared flowers up the handle, man kneeling, and an eagle at the top; both spoons read, ‘WM. A. Rogers. SXR.’ Also included is a ladle with ‘Boquet plate’, large fork with ‘Community Plate’, and a pie-server with a cut-out design. There are also commemorative pieces in this group: an antique 1893 spoon with an image of Christopher Columbus and the words, ’World’s Fair City’ on the handle with an image of the Chicago Administrative Building on the inward curve of the spoon, and a commemorative spoon features the Irish shield with the word, ‘Killarney’ on top; marked to the underside, ‘EPNS.’

Condition

Some tarnish is evident which can be brightened with cleaning.
