An original oil landscape painting on composite board by well-listed American artist Walter King Stone (1875 – 1949). The landscape features a Native American man who peers over the edge of a stoney ridge, looking upon a winding river where a small ship appears to be floating. The painting is signed in the lower right hand corner, dated 1944. It is presented in a gilt wood frame with ribbed applique detail. -to fair. Discoloration throughout the painting. The applique of frame is significantly chipped.
