A framed modern reproduction of an 1811 captain’s commission in the Pennsylvania state militia, presented to John Campbell by Governor Simon Snyder, third governor of Pennsylvania. Matted in light gray paper, and framed under glass in a wood frame with a dark finish. More information on Campbell, gathered by a descendant, is affixed to the reverse.
