An antique Oliver and Co. side-by-side oak secretary desk and bookcase. This piece of furniture can serve several functions. Half of it is a fall front desk with cubbyholes, a single drawer, and a cabinet with a single door. The other half of the piece is a glass front bookcase or curio cabinet with three shelves. There is also display space on two shelves above the desk and the bookcase. The piece is further embellished by the inclusion of a beveled mirror above the drop leaf desk, and dovetail construction The desk bears a label on the reverse, ‘Calvin Gossett/Cynthiana, KY/Harrison County/6-10/ Oliver & Co’.
