John A. Bruce "Rope the Critter" Signed L/E Lithograph
Item Details
A hand signed limited edition hand pulled lithograph titled Rope the Critter by well-listed artist John A. Bruce (American, b. 1931). Bruce initially began a career in psychology before serving in the Korean War, but later returned to school and received his formal fine art training at the Art Center School in Los Angeles and the Chouinard Art Institute. He has worked as an illustrator and is known for his paintings and prints in the frontier landscape and portraiture genre. The monochromatic lithograph has a pastel drawing appearance, depicting a cowboy on his horse getting ready to lasso his catch in front of him. He rides through a Western landscape, reminiscent of Monuments Valley, Colorado. This is pencil signed, titled and numbered 132/275 in the lower margins. This is also blind stamped in the lower margins. The print is double matted and presented in a wood and glass plated frame.
