Original Signed Toshio Aoki Gouache Painting

An original gouache painting of a fisherman by well-listed and highly regarded Japanese/American artist Toshio Aoki (1853 – 1912). A Japanese fisherman pulls his net out of the water as the scene is illuminated by the light of the full moon. The painting has an illustrative style with sketch-like line work atop washes in the background. The painting is signed to the lower right-hand corner in Asian characters and also in English. This work of art is presented under glass in a wide wooden frame with a navy painted finish. A silver tone trim is painted to the interior edge of the frame. Condition
The painting is in good condition. The frame has minor surface damage throughout.
