An African spiritual Nkondi statue. An older hand carved piece originating from central Africa, the Nkondi are specific Minkisi intended to act for the good of the community by protecting and defeating criminals, enemies and other evil forces. As typical of these statues this piece adorns nails and cloth sacks to its side which would’ve been used to hold ritual medicines and other objects.
