Item Details
An original painting by Robert Knipschild (1927-2004). The painting titled Coastal is an oil and graphite on paper. The subject matter of the painting is that of a coastline. Abstract in style with a cool color palette of blues and whites, which is juxtaposed by the stark black line accents. Robert Knipschild was born in Illinois in 1927, he studied art at the University of Wisconsin. In 1950 he was selected to exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Arts exhibit titled American Painting Today. Knipschild’s works have been exhibited in many museums across the nation including; The Boston Museum of Fine Arts, The Whitney Museum and The Corcoran Museum.
