A fiercely primal abstractionist terragraph on hand made paper, by the highly exhibited and well listed Zhou Brothers (China & Illinois, b 1952 and 1957) titled ‘Red Shadow’ an abstract, archaistic and yet thoroughly modern, calling to mind the ancient art form of pictographs, a pair of figures mid – left. The piece is 68 in an edition of 165, signed in the lower right margin, and housed in a spectacular gilt wooden molding frame with linen matting. Includes a certificate of authenticity. The terragraph process, developed by the famous partners, collectively known as the Zhou Brothers, is, a revolutionary technique for creating richly texturized prints with applied sand, collected from the Negev desert, combines resins and the natural sand for a textural effect, never before rendered through the medium of screen printing.
