Vintage IBM Selectric II Typerwriters

Item Details

A lot of two vintage electric IBM Selectric II typewriters, one in the rarer red color and one in tan. The IBM Selectric line was introduced in 1961. By 1986, IBM had sold more than 13 million typewriters. They were revolutionary for the incorporation of the golf ball-shaped type head which allowed users to change font type and size, eliminated forever the tendency of typewriters to jam, thus increasing typists’ speed and productivity, and removed the need for the return carriage. This lot contains two Selectric II models with the correcting tape. This innovation was introduced in 1973. The line was retired in 1986.There are two unopened correcting tape cassettes included. Machines untested.
