An original oil on board painting signed Vincze (1)950 to bottom right hand corner. The artist has offered an impeccable rendition of a frozen lake in mid melt, with amoebic holes in the ice that draw the eye up and into the canvas. The edge of the lake snakes ambiguously into a shady hollow of trees created by sloping banks on either side. The trunks of trees give way to a dark abyss of true black that creates the modestly looming horizon line of the composition. The color palette is exciting and full of ample cool tones. This painting is a joy to look at, and would be a wonderful addition to any art collection.
Condition
Fair-Poor, Painting has come loose in its frame and has been taped to back. Surface of painting is cracked mainly in the back section where black pain has been applied. Scratching, chipping, and scuffing to frame, top left corner of frame seems to have separated slightly.
