A large hardcover ‘Baby Elephant Folio’ edition of Audobon’s Birds of America, the magnum opus of American ornithologist John James Audobon. It features gorgeous full-color, and often full-page, illustrations of birds, with text at the beginning of each chapter as well as an introduction. Edited by naturalist and ornithologist Roger Tory Peterson and his wife Virginia Marie Peterson. The illustrations have been rearranged from Audobon’s original publication order, and are now ordered by modern scientific classifications of the bird species. Published 1981 by Cross River Press. Includes protective sleeve.
